… years, I’ve come to acknowledge my immense privileges as a first-generation Indian American woman. Much of what my mother’s and grandmothers’ generations endured — limited education, arranged marriages, immense societal pressure to be perfect mothers/wives /daughter-in-laws — is unimaginable to me.
