I love this unpopular view. I recently wrote a piece (outside of Medium) about how if you get upset or angry while meditating, it's actually more normal than walking away feeling calm and at peace. I thought there was something wrong with me during my yoga teacher training when no amount of meditation made me feel better. My teacher said it was bringing up the stuff I needed to see and I was becoming more mindful of all my parts... even the tough ones. She said that was the goal of meditation, and that I was on the right track. Those of us who don't find shadows when we meditate are still on autopilot. But as you say, meditation just may not be the best practice for some and that's okay.
Thanks for this.
