I love when people try to normalize my experience with anxiety like, We’re all anxious at times.

Maybe I’d find these words helpful I didn’t constantly feel like an outcast because of the social situations which send my mind spinning, the never-ending lists and need for perfection that cripple me, and the intrusive thoughts consuming my every move.

Some people have phobias that significantly interfere with their lives and keep them from leaving the house, attending certain events, or accepting exciting opportunities.

For example, your close friend might be planning a destination wedding and due to your fear of flying, you decide to stay home.

I don’t have specific phobias I can name. Instead, I have random, unplanned fears that alert me every day, and in ordinary moments. Some would say, it’s worse than an identified phobia.

The Games I Play to Ease My Fear

I will say, it’s normal to feel anxious and experience unfocused, negative, or out-of-control feelings. We’ve all been there at times.
