Maybe; maybe not. It's sometimes said that those in larger bodies have greater bone strength and bone mineral density from more mechanical loading and adipose tissue/ estrogens in the body. Of course I don't know what exactly was happening with your knees, but something I thought to mention. I'm 27 and thin, and it's likely I'll need a knee replacement before I'm 35. All bodies struggle and I hope you take it easy on yourself for having experienced unexpected changes. It can be so challenging to develop healthy habits when you didn't grow up being taught them.
