So true, Megan! The book by Richard Schwartz called "No Bad Parts" has so many exercises you can do to start practicing IFS on your own. I sometimes do these in between my sessions.
It's a bummer that you can't find an IFS trained therapist near you. Hopefully that changes as this style of therapy grows its reputation.
I totally relate to your thoughts of it being too "woo" and out there. I'm also a very analytical, and sometimes black and white thinker. But honestly, I think it's even more groundbreaking for those like us... if we're willing to lean in and give it a try.
