Every year, I keep track of the books I read. As an avid list maker, it’s a fun way to celebrate each time I finish a book. It’s also a useful way of encouraging myself to read more than the year before.

However, this is the first time since starting the tradition that I’ve taken time to reflect on what I did and did not take away from the books I read.

Certain books indeed speak to you differently in unique seasons, and you can’t force yourself to digest the information you’re not ready to receive.

That’s probably the biggest lesson I’ve learned from this exercise.

I hope you too, learn something from my list; Maybe it gives you ideas for books to read (and not to read) in 2022, inspires you to start your own list, or allows you an opportunity to speak to one of the books I mention from a different perspective.

So, without further ado, here are the 10 books I read in 2021 with a few words on what I did and did not enjoy about each one.
