This has always stunned me, too, and is one of the reasons I love live music.

… about these shows is the way that the front man for each band, differently, connects with his fans. Like they are genuinely glad to be there and playing music, like they are still genuinely into it after all these years, that they genuinely love the fact they are living the dream of millions of people who have ever strapped on a guitar or picked up a pair of drum sticks.
