WowWowWow. The other day I was thinking back to the time in my life where all of my friends were people I had met through church. No wonder I was so closed-minded! I remember having a birthday party, recognizing this, and being proud. Now, only one of my close friends is someone I met through church, and she's much more progressive than she was when we met.

I agree with you, that's so important to have friends from all different backgrounds and lived experience. That is certainly the key to a lot of my growth and changed views/opinions.

I'm so glad you no longer have to hide who you are (because who you are in awesome), and have found people to spend your time with who make you feel seen, valued, and heard.
